Rule out hitting Northumberland’s 83,421 pensioners to fill YOUR £46bn tax blackhole – Northumberland Labour’s Leader writes to Rishi Sunak to demand answers
Northumberland Labour’s Leader Scott Dickinson MBE has today written to Rishi Sunak to demand he rules out raiding the pensions of Northumberland’s 83,421 pensioners to cover the cost of his unfunded £46bn tax plan.
The letter comes just 18 months after the Conservatives’ disastrous mini-budget crashed the British economy with £45bn worth of unfunded tax cuts.
The letter is reproduced in full below.
Dear Rishi,
Pensioners in Northumberland have worked hard their whole lives – you must not use THEIR pensions to fill YOUR £46bn black hole.
It beggars belief that just 18 months after the Conservative Party crashed the British economy with the kamikaze mini-budget – and £45bn worth of unfunded tax cuts – your party is at it again.
People in Northumberland have had enough of 14 years of Conservative mismanagement of the British economy. You must surely see that people will not put up with more unfunded promises. We have all seen where that ends – chaos.
So it is time for you to come clean about your plans. Will you rule out raiding Northumberland pensions to cover the cost of your £46bn blackhole? You must now give pensioners that peace of mind. Your continued refusal to safeguard pensions is causing enormous concern to the millions across the country who can not afford to pay for your mistakes.
I look forward to your response, before people go to the polls on Thursday 2 May.
Yours truly,
Scott Dickinson MBE
