Labour’s five missions usher in a decade of renewal
Northumberland Labours says the party’s five missions will usher in a decade of renewal. The five missions are:
Secure the highest sustained growth in the G7
Make Britain a clean energy superpower
Build an NHS fit for the future
Break down the barriers to opportunity at every stage
Make Britain’s streets safe
Leader Scott Dickinson said: “We want to turn around 13 years of the rich getting even richer, the poor getting even poorer and people in the middle finding it more and more difficult to pay their bills. Surely we all deserve better than this.
“The Tories have presided over 13 years of decline and forgotten it is supposed be serving everyone, not just the very rich few.
“If elected, from Day One Labour will work tirelessly to make sure the country works for everyone from the very young, children, people who are vulnerable, working people, people who need extra support to find jobs and older people. This is the function of government, which sadly the Tories seem to have forgotten.
“We also must make sure our environment is protected by making homes cleaner and greener which will provide meaningful well paid jobs as well as doing our planet a favour.
“If elected at a council level we will strive to make Northumberland the best place to live and make sure it’s a county that works for everyone..
“People right across the world used to look to this country as a positive example. Labour will make that happen again.”
