Labour’s five missions for a better Britain
Northumberland Labour says the party’s five missions will make life better for people in the county.
Leader Scott Dickinson said: “For 13 years we’ve seen money stripped out of the county. It has left many people without a decent home and struggling to get by. It has got to stop and Labour is the party to reverse it.
“For Labour, the most important asset in the county is our people. We pledge to put people first in everything we do and we’re confident Labour’s five missions will go a long way towards making our county a much better place to live.”
Labour’s five missions are:
Get Britain building again – 1.5m homes built across the county and first dibs on new homes being built in their local area
Switch on Great British Energy – create a new British energy company to give us cheaper bills, new high paid jobs and energy security
Get the NHS back on its feet – cutting waiting times and lists, improving out-of-hours treatment and giving the NHS the resources it needs so your family can get faster treatment
Take back our streets – from gangs, drug dealers and flytippers with stronger policies, guaranteed patrols in town centres and more criminals being put behind bars
Break down barriers to opportunity – more specialist teachers, a modern curriculum, better training and apprenticeships so every young person is ready for work and life.
