Ashington councillor pleased to contribute to new facilities

Local county councillor Caroline Ball has contributed to the new toilet block at Ashington Cricket Club.

Councillor Ball said: “It is really important that we support local clubs who have provided the foundations to people who have gone on to play for England.

“Clubs like this are the heart of our communities and it’s vital they have facilities fit for purpose in 2022 and to be inclusive and accessible for the whole community.”

Chairman of the Cricket Club Robert Dunning said: “Thank you, this is great news for the cricket club.”

Northumberland leader Scott Dickinson added: “The power of the councillor’s small schemes allowance is they can listen to what the community wants and respond to local need without involving a load of bureaucracy and time.

“I’m very pleased Caroline has chosen to help her local cricket club in the way. It gives them facilities to be proud of and that can only be a good thing.”
