Homeless people warmer thanks to your generous donations
I am so grateful to the many people in Druridge Bay and the surrounding area who so generously responded to the shout out for clothes for homeless people in our region. In all we filled nearly 20 black bin liners with clothes collected at the Trap Inn and Hadston House, the main collection points. Brother and sister Scott and Gemma, together with Scott’s nephew, loaded them up and delivered them to a homeless volunteer centre in Westerhope near Newcastle. People become homeless for many reasons and it’s worrying to know that relationship break up, losing a job and addiction can result in living without the one thing many of us take for granted; a roof over our head. It makes me very proud that people are compassionate and want to help people less fortunate than themselves. Thank you so much.
