Druridge Bay Fitness Center and Boxing Suite is taking shape......

During the 2013 Election I promised as part of my Campaign that if elected I would secure the money to build the Druridge Bay Fitness Center and Boxing Suite.

This was all about making top of the range facilities accessible to the Rural Coastal Coalfield.

We aim, working with our partners Active Northumberland to have a state of the Art Gym with Boxing Suite upstairs with a full size ring and facilities to hold events. We will also be putting a range of classes and activities on for people to attend and enjoy.

One of the most important things I wanted to promote was GP referrals for patients needing prescribed Fitness as part of an ongoing condition. Take up has been poor and that's because of access, often patients referred to Alnwick or Ashington and if you don't have transport it can be an expensive journey.
