Labour County Council take increase in Child Poverty to Cabinet

Under the current government there's no surprise that child poverty has increased. There has also been an increase in children in care and families accessing food banks across the County. Direct results of bedroom tax, sanctions and many other government inflicted policy changes. Families who are struggling are rightly seeking additional support. Many of these families are hard working families too.......

As an experienced member of the Fostering Panel and other supporting organisations across Northumberland I see first hand the support NCC and third sector organisations are being asked to provide. All as a result of government policy changes.
